In the period between 27 January and 2 February 2000 the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) registered 11 transactions with a total volume of USD 3,816,900. The largest transaction was made with the shares of Voskhod (VOCH, non-listed) at USD 2.5 million or 68.1% of KASE’s weekly volume. Other equities traded were the common and preferred shares of Kazakhmys (KZMS, KZMSp), Mangistau-MunaiGas (MMGZp), Neftekhimbank (NFCH). See the following table for details. (KASE, Panorama)

On 6 November, the Finance Ministry and the National Bank conducted the 25th auction of dollar-denominated 6-month T-bills. The Finance Ministry raised USD 2.6 million falling short of its target of USD 3.0 million. However, it kept the average yield unchanged.
