Conclusion
May 1998
| Political system reforms | We have seen improvements in the governments structure, including greater balance between the different branches of power and the development of the civil service. Recent laws, such as that concerning the principles of civil service, create a legal framework for further reforms within the executive branch of power. |
| Investment objectives of the current publication | Throughout this report, we have tried to highlight the major components of the modern political system in Kazakhstan which might influence the investment process. We have intentionally left unattended such issues as a review of the legal framework and the organisation of all the ministries. Rather, we tried to focus your attention on some background information concerning the political aspects of investing in Kazakhstan as well as on practical things such as the structure of key ministries. We shall cover the functions and policies of the National Bank and the National Securities Commission in a special report on Financial Markets in Kazakhstan. |
| Other publications | For those interested in more detailed information on Kazakhstan, we would like to refer you to a series of publications put out by the Research Department of Kazkommerts Securities. The publications include a General Economic Guide, a Survey of Financial Markets, an overview of the Oil and Gas Industry, a guide to the Textile Sector, as well as research on selected companies. We also offer customer-tailored analyses of companies and/or industries. |
