Last week, trades on the Almaty Financial Instrument Exchange (AFINEX) commenced on Tuesday, 23 March since Kazakhstan celebrated its national holiday, Nauryz, on 22 March. From 23-26 March, the U.S. Dollar was traded at a low of KZT 87.20, and a high of KZT 87.63 per one Dollar. The maximum daily traded volume, USD 6,555,000, was reported on Tuesday, 23 March. However, it fell to a minimum of USD 2,880,000 the next day. On Friday, 26 March the Tenge closed at 87.80 per one Dollar and the traded volume reached USD 3,700,000. (IRBIS)
