The National Securities Commission (NSC) is working on a radically new stock market development programme that aims to encourage small and medium-sized companies to enter the market. The NSC's executive director, Umit Kulinov, told Reuters that, in his opinion, investors are mostly interested in stable small and medium companies, and the latter are psychologically prepared to tap the stock market. Previous NSC programmes were oriented towards blue chip companies since it was hoped that they would give an initial boost to the stock market's development. (Reuters)
