Tenge was standing at a level of 78.50 at the Almaty Financial Instrument Exchange (AFINEX) until Thursday, August 27, when it fell to 78.70. As a result, the traded volume decreased to US $1,065,000 that day from US $6,370,000. On Friday, however, the traded volume soared to US $ 10,695,000 with Tenge having closed at 78.80. Deutsche Marks were only traded on Monday, August 24, at 43.80 with a total traded volume of DM10,000.
