The KZT/USD exchange rate was extraordinarily unstable over the last week on the AFINEX (Almaty Financial Instruments Exchange). The highest rate offered mainly by the National Bank, rose from 76.85 to 76.95. Anticipating a further rise of the Dollar, traders bid high transaction volumes, which over the last week totalled US $14.2 million.
Last week the Deutsche Mark was not traded at all.
